Bourbon Braised Pork Chops |

Ingredients:
1/4 cup all-purpose flour |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1/4 teaspoon pepper |
4 pork chops, 1 inch thick |
1 tablespoon vegetable oil |
4 orange slices |
2 tablespoons brown sugar |
2 tablespoons cornstarch |
1/8 teaspoon ground allspice |
1 cup water |
1/4 cup orange juice |
2 tablespoons bourbon |
1/4 cup raisins |
Directions:
1. Combine flour,salt and pepper,dredge chops in flour mixture. 2. Brown on both sides in oil in a large skillet. 3. Place an orange slice on each chop. 4. Combine brown sugar,cornstarch and allspice in a small saucepan,gradually stir in water. 5. Cook over medium heat,stirring constantly,until mixture thickens and comes to a boil. 6. Cook 1 minute,stirring constantly. 7. Remove from heat,stir in orange juice,bourbon and rasins. 8. Spoon over pork chops. 9. Cover,reduce heat and simmer 1 hour or until pork chops are tender,stirring occasionally. |
