This recipe was featured on week 34 of my food blog, Travel by Stove. I am attempting to cook on meal from every nation on Earth, and Botswana is my 34th stop. Ingredients:
1 ripe tomato, finely chopped |
1/2 onion, shredded |
1 teaspoon ground ginger |
1 tablespoon dried oregano, crumbled |
1 teaspoon ground ginger |
1 teaspoon thyme |
1 teaspoon dried piri-piri chile, crumbled (optional) |
about 3/4 of one small white cabbage, shredded |
oil (for frying) |
Directions:
1. Fry the onion and tomato in a little bit of oil for about five minutes, then add the herbs and spices. 2. Stir well until you get a thick, kind of mushy paste. 3. Add the grated cabbage and saute for one or two minutes until well-blended, then cover and cook until the cabbage is soft, stirring occasionally. |
