Borderline Kaos's 7 Layer Salad

Easy to make-ahead recipe that's a sure-fire hit! My mom made this for every holiday meal-it makes a lot. Us kids used to fight over the leftovers for breakfast the next morning (it gets too watery any later in the day than that). If you use a clear bowl, it makes for a nice presentation as well.
Ingredients:
1 head lettuce, shredded
1 1/2 cups celery, chopped
1 1/2 cups onions, chopped
1 (10 ounce) package frozen peas, thawed (note -- do not use canned!)
2 cups mayonnaise (not miracle whip)
1 cup parmesan cheese
8 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
Directions:
1. Layer all ingredients in a large bowl in the order listed.
2. Refrigerate a minimum of 8 hours to let the flavours mingle (this step is important!).
3. Toss and serve.
