1 shallot, minced |
1 slice onion (about 1/2-inch thick) |
1 small carrot, scraped and cut in half lengthwise |
6 whole peppercorns |
1 whole clove |
1 bay leaf |
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour |
2 cups beef broth |
1/4 teaspoon salt |
1/8 teaspoon pepper |
1/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons red wine |
1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley |
Directions:
1. Combine all ingredients in a medium saucepan. Cook over low heat 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove peppercorns, clove, and bay leaf before serving. |
