Boozy Brussels Sprouts With Bacon |

Colourful and full of contrasting textures and flavours. Perfect side for Christmas dinner. Ingredients:
2 cups brussels sprouts, steamed |
1/4 cup bacon, cooked & cut in 1-inch pieces |
1/4 cup chestnuts, parboiled, peeled & crumbled |
1/3 cup red cabbage, in strips |
6 teaspoons butter |
1/2 teaspoon brown sugar |
1 tablespoon good scotch whiskey |
1/8 teaspoon white pepper |
1 dash nutmeg |
fresh parsley (to garnish) |
Directions:
1. in a medium saucepan, melt butter, add crumbled chestnuts and cook until browned. Add whiskey, sugar and seasonings. Stir gently until blended. Add vegetables. Shake until coated. Toss with crumbled bacon and garnish with parsley. |
