This one dish meal is a family favorite in the cooler months. It goes great with a small salad. Ingredients:
6 links italian sausage |
1 purple onion |
2 tablespoons olive oil |
2 garlic cloves |
2 cups rice |
1 (14 ounce) can beef broth or 1 (14 ounce) can chicken broth |
tabasco sauce |
Directions:
1. Cook rice according to instructions substituting the broth for the water and set aside. 2. In a skillet heat on medium high the olive oil. 3. Slice onion and quarter the slices, place onions and sausage in the skillet (I usually half the sausage before cooking). 4. Brown the sausage evenly. 5. Press the garlic and add to the skillet about two minutes before the sausage is done. 6. Serve with rice and Tabasco. |
