This is my husband's cousin's recipe. She is always asked to bake these cookies for every event and especially for the Church fund-raisers. They look so pretty! And the taste is sure to please! These now are a favorite of ours.
Ingredients:
1/2 cup soft butter
3/4 cup powdered 10x sugar
1 tablespoon vanilla
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup flaked coconut
nuts (one for each bonbon if desired) or raisins (one for each bonbon if desired) or dried cherries (one for each bonbon if desired) or fruit (one for each bonbon if desired) or m&m' (one for each bonbon if desired)
3 drops milk
food coloring, of your choice
3/4 cup powdered 10x sugar, to color
Directions:
1. Cream butter, 10x sugar, and vanilla.
2. Add flour and salt (sifted together).
3. Shape dough into a round; if desired wrap dough around a nut, a raisin, a dried fruit piece, or an M & M.
4. Bake at 350 degrees for 12 minutes.
5. When slightly cooled, dip 1/2 cookie in colored 10x sugar made into a paste with a few drops and milk and choice of food coloring -
6. Now dip in the flaked coconut and marvel at their beauty!
7. Yield: About 30 cookies.
