This recipe is from Martin Yan's Quick and Easy Program. Ingredients:
1 tablespoon dark soy sauce |
1 tablespoon cornstarch |
1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced across the grain |
1 tablespoon vegetable oil |
1 small shallot, thinly sliced into rings |
1 jalapeno chili, thinly sliced into rings |
1/2 cup lightly packed thai basil or 1/2 cup regular basil |
Directions:
1. Marinade: Combine ingredients in a medium bowl. Add beef and stir to coat. Let stand for 10 minutes,. 2. Beef: Place a stir-fry pan over high heat until hot. Add oil, swirling to coat sides. 3. Add shallot and chili; cook. stirring until fragrant, about 20 seconds. Add beef and stir-fry until barely pink in center, about 3 to 4 minutes. 4. Remove pan from heat and stir in basil leaves. 5. Serve immediately. |
