Again another recipe to go with the plain cake recipe of olde. Ingredients:
boiled icing |
1 cup sugar |
5 tablespoons boiling water |
boil for 10 to 12 minutes, until the mixture dropped from a spoon spins a thread. |
stir this mixture into |
1 egg white stiffly beaten |
until thick and creamy. |
flavor with lemon, almond, or vanilla. |
Directions:
1. Dip knife in hot water occasionally when spreading icing on cake.
