An easy, delicious recipe that I learned in college. Ingredients:
8 ounces ziti pasta (approximately 1/2 box) |
25 ounces vodka sauce (one jar) |
16 ounces ricotta cheese |
16 ounces mozzarella cheese |
salt & pepper |
your favorite herbs |
you favorite spices |
Directions:
1. Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees. 2. Boil the ziti; remove from heat and drain before it is cooked al dente [approximately 7-8 minutes]. 3. Pour a thin layer of vodka sauce to cover the bottom of a 9x9 baking dish. 4. Add 1/2 of the pasta to the baking dish. 5. Cover pasta with 1/2 [or desired amount] of ricotta and mozzarella cheese. 6. Add salt, pepper, and herbs if desired. 7. Cover the pasta with a layer of vodka sauce. 8. Add a second layer of pasta, cheese, and sauce [Hold back a small portion of mozzarella]. 9. Cover the sauce on top with the remaining mozzarella. 10. Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 40 minutes at 350 degrees. 11. After 40 minutes, remove the foil and bake for another 20 minutes. 12. Allow the dish to cool for 5 minutes before serving. |
