Every time someone new tries this banana bread, they ask me for the recipe. The outside gets a little crisp and develops caramel notes, while the inside stays moist and dense. It's also very easy to make and I always have the ingredients on hand (except maybe the bananas). Ingredients:
3 large ripe bananas |
1 cup sugar |
1 egg |
4 tablespoons melted butter |
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour |
1 teaspoon baking soda |
1 teaspoon salt |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 325. 2. Spray a 9x5 loaf pan (preferably glass) with nonstick spray. 3. Mash bananas in a medium bowl. You should have about 1 cup. 4. Beat in sugar, egg, and melted butter. 5. Stir in flour, salt, and soda just until moistened. 6. Pour into pan and bake 1 hour. 7. Cool 10 minutes before removing from pan. |
