A great recipe to have on hand for fall with the fresh apples and cranberries. Ingredients:
3 large apples, cored, peeled and sliced |
1/3 cup dried cranberries |
1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice or 1 teaspoon cinnamon, divided |
1/3 cup flour |
1/2 cup light brown sugar |
1/2 cup old fashioned oats |
1/3 cup butter or 1/3 cup margarine, softened |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. 2. Spray an 8 inch square baking pan with cooking spray. 3. In a large bowl, combine apples, cranberries and 1/2 t. pumpkin pie spice. 4. Toss to mix. 5. Pile mixture into baking dish. 6. In a medium bowl combine flour, remaining 1/2 t. pumpking pie spice, brown sugar and oats. 7. Mix well. 8. Blend in the softened butter until crumbly. 9. Sprinkle over fruit mixture. 10. Bake 40-45 minutes or until fruit is tender when pierced with a sharp knife and topping is golden brown. |
