This is a unique way to cook apples...My mom used to fix this occasionally. Ingredients:
6 cups sliced peeled apples |
1 package jello gelatin, any red flavor (3 oz) |
2 tablespoons red wine or apple cider |
1/2 cup softened butter |
1 cup firmly packed brown sugar |
3/4 cup quicked rolled oats |
3/4 cup flour |
1/2 cup chopped nuts |
Directions:
1. Combine apples, gelatin and wine; mix well. 2. Pour into a well buttered 13 x 9 inch pan. 3. Mix together remaining ingredients until crumbly. 4. Spread over apples. 5. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes, or until apples are tender and top is browned. 6. Serve warm or chilled with cream or whipped topping. |
