Strawberries can be used in this recipe. I found this recipe in The Market Basket Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Guide. This is from New York WIC Program Farmers Market Nutrition Program. I have not tried this recipe, but I'm posting it for safe keeping. Ingredients:
1/2 cup sugar |
2 teaspoons cornstarch |
1/2 cup water |
1 pint blueberries |
1 tablespoon fruit juice |
Directions:
1. Combine sugar and cornstarch. 2. Stir in the water. Add blueberries and bring to a boil. Simmer until thickened, about 4 minutes, continuing to stir. 3. Remove from heat, add fruit juice. Serve over pancakes, ice cream or mix with plain yogurt. |
