Clear jel can be purchased at bulk food stores. It makes the filling smoother than cornstarch. Ingredients:
3 cups water |
2 cups sugar |
2/3 cups clear jel |
1 small box blackberry jello |
2 t lemon juice |
4 cups frozen blueberries |
1 cup brown sugar |
1 cup oats |
1 cup flour |
1 stick butter |
2 unbaked pie shells |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. 2. Mix water, granulated sugar, and clear jel in a heavy medium saucepan. Cook until thickened. Remove from heat. Add jello and lemon juice. Cool. 3. Stir berries into sugar mixture. Divide between pie shells. 4. Mix brown sugar, oats, flour, and butter until crumbly. 5. Sprinkle over pies. 6. Bake until golden brown. 7. Per serving: 388 calories; 3 g protein; 70 g carbs; 2 g fiber; 11 g fat (5 g sat.); 15 mg cholesterol; 139 mg sodium |
