Excellent easy recipe from The Blueberry Cook Book Ingredients:
4 cups fresh blueberries |
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg |
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon |
3/4 cup sugar |
1 tablespoon lemon juice |
1/2 cup water |
2 cups flour |
4 teaspoons baking powder |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1 tablespoon sugar |
2 tablespoons butter |
add enough milk, to make soft dough |
Directions:
1. Heat berries and spices. 2. Boil gently and cook down. 3. Drop dumplings by spoons in hot berry sauce. 4. Cover and cook 15 minutes. 5. To serve: spoon out biscuits and pour sauce over. |
