Ingredients:
1/2 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
1 egg
2 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon ginger
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup buttermilk
1 cup blueberries
Directions:
1. Cream shortening and sugar together; beat in egg.
2. Sift dry ingredients together and stir into batter alternately with buttermilk.
3. Fold berries in gently. Bake in greased and floured 9 x 5 loaf pan at 350 degrees for 1 hour and 10 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.
