Recipe saved from Duke Power Company's 1993 calendar Ingredients:
1/2 cup shortening |
1 cup sugar |
1 egg |
2 cups flour |
1/2 teaspoon ginger |
1 teaspoon cinnamon |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1 teaspoon baking soda |
1 cup buttermilk |
1 cup blueberries |
Directions:
1. Cream shortening and sugar together; beat in egg. 2. Sift dry ingredients together and stir into batter alternately with buttermilk. 3. Fold berries in gently. Bake in greased and floured 9 x 5 loaf pan at 350 degrees for 1 hour and 10 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean. |
