A tasty french toast that everyone will love!! The recipe comes from Smucker's,,, Ingredients:
1 cup liquid egg substitute, well shaken |
1 teaspoon vanilla extract |
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon |
1/2 cup smuckers pure blueberry jam |
8 slices white bread or 8 slices whole wheat bread |
nonstick cooking spray |
icing sugar |
1/3 cup smucker's pure blueberry jam |
1 tablespoon lemon juice |
Directions:
1. In a wide shallow dish, whisk together eggs, vanilla, and cinnamon. 2. Spread 2 tablespoons jam on 4 slices of bread; top with remaining bread. Dip both sides of bread into egg mixture until all the liquid is absorbed. 3. Spray a nonstick skillet with cooking spray. Heat over low-medium heat and cook bread for 2-3 minutes per side or until golden brown. 4. Serve with a dusting of icing sugar and/or blueberry sauce on top. 5. BLUEBERRY SAUCE:. 6. Combine blueberry jam and lemon juice in a small bowl. Microwave on high for about 15 seconds to warm mixture; stir well. Drizzle sauce over French toast. 7. TIP:. 8. 1. Prepare French Toast as directed above, up until bread is dipped in egg mixture, then place on a baking sheet sprayed with nonstick cooking spray. Cover and refrigerate overnight. The next morning, bake uncovered in a preheated 350F oven for 20-22 minutes or until golden brown, turning brown, turning bread over after about 15 minutes. If using blueberry sauce, prepare night before, refrigerate, covered, and warm in microwave for 15-20 seconds before using; stir well. 9. 2.
