Best served straight from the oven. I found this in Hometown Cooking June 2001. Haven't tried it yet, but keeping here for safekeeping. Ingredients:
2 cups flour |
1/3 cup sugar |
1 tablespoon baking powder |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1/3 cup shortening |
1 cup milk |
1 cup fresh blueberries or 1 cup frozen blueberries |
2 teaspoons sugar |
Directions:
1. Stir together the first four ingredients. Cut in the shortening until mix resembles coarse crumbs. 2. Add the milk and mix until just combined. Gently fold in the berries. 3. Drop dough by spoonfuls onto a greased sheet; sprinkle with sugar. 4. Bake at 425 degrees for 15-17 minutes until light brown. |
