Blueberry Chocolate Oatmeal |

This is a way to get chocolate that is filling as well as healthy. Blueberries and chocolate go so well together and are packed with antoxidants. For the most antioxidants make sure the chocolate is at least 70 percent. To lower the fat and calories you can substitute a teaspoon or 2 of cocoa powder for the chocolate Ingredients:
1 cup blueberries |
1/4 cup oatmeal |
1 ounce dark chocolate |
4 ounces 1%milk |
Directions:
1. Prepare the oatmeal according to directions. I use steel cut oats for the lowest glycemic index. Because steelcut oats take 40 minutes to cook I make a batch and keep it in the fridge for several days. Thaw or defrost if using frozen blueberries. Mix together chocolate, oatmeal and blueberries. Microwave for a few seconds if needed to melt the chocolate. Mix in milk and enjoy |
