I really enjoy the flavor combination of blue cheese and pears. This recipe combines these flavors into a wonderful meal. Serve with a fresh garden salad. Enjoy! Update - I'm going to be testing this recipe a little more. Ingredients:
4 chicken breasts |
1 cup chicken stock |
1/2 cup white wine |
2 pears, peeled and sliced |
2 tablespoons butter |
2 minced garlic cloves (use more or less if you like) |
1 cup heavy whipping cream |
1/4 cup blue cheese (original recipe calls for 1/2 cup) |
salt and pepper |
Directions:
1. Place chicken breasts in the crock pot. 2. Pour chicken stock and wine on top of filets. 3. Top with sliced pears and dot with 2 tablespoons of butter. 4. Cook on low heat for 4-5 hour or until the chicken slides off a knife. 5. When done, stir in the whipping cream and blue cheese simmer until cheese melts. 6. Add salt and pepper to taste. |
