I am very simple when it comes to cooking. I enjoy looking at all the wonderful recipes I probably will dream of but never make. So I really look but rarely post. We received a gift jar of wild blueberry jam and the wife and I followed directions with the assorted recipes that came with it. Read more . This is probably as fancy as I will do stuff. We and the grandkids loved it. I hope you will too Ingredients:
1 loaf french bread |
1 pkg cream cheese, 8 oz |
1/2 cup fresh blueberries |
1/4 cup blueberry jam |
6 large eggs |
1/3 cup maple syrup( i used pancake maple syrup, not 1005%) |
1 cup milk |
blueberry syrup |
1/2 cup blueberry jam |
2 tbs water |
1 tbs butter |
dash cinnamom |
Directions:
1. Cut bread into snmall cubes 2. place half in buttered deep dish pie pan 3. cut cream cheese into small cubes and place blueberries with cream cheese over bread 4. Spread jam on top 5. cover with the other half of bread cubes 6. Whisk eggs and syrup and milk 7. Pour over bread mixture 8. Chill a few hours or overnight, cover with foil 9. Preheat oven to 350 and bake with foil cover 30 minutes 10. Remove foil and bake 15 minutes longer or top is golden 11. Make syrup: 12. Combine all ingredients in saucepan over medium heat and whisk till bubbly. 13. Serve the casserole hot with syrup drizzled over top |
