Bloody Mary Stew

Had this for dinner at a friend's house a few days ago. It was really good. I have never used the frozen mixed soup vegetables before, but, we enjoyed it very much, and would sure be a time saver!
Ingredients:
2 pounds cubed stew meat
1/2 cup flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon dry mustard
1/2 pound bacon, cut into bite size pieces
1 envelope onion soup mix
3 cups water
1 liter bloody mary mix
1 cup barley
2 teaspoon sugar
1 (20 ounce) package frozen mixed soup vegetables
1/2 of 20 ounce package frozen cut corn
1 onion, chopped
Directions:
1. Mix together flour, salt and dry mustaed.
2. Coat meat with mixture of flour, salt and mustard.
3. Fry bacon in large Dutch oven.
4. Remove bacon then brown meat in bacon drippings.
5. Add soup mix and water.
6. Cover and simmer for 1 hour.
7. Add bloody Mary mix, barley, sugar, bacon, frozen vegetables and onion.
8. Simmer for another 45 minutes.
9. If more liquid is needed, just add more bloody Mary mix.
