Another easy recipe that's really good, yummie with a nice cup of coffee. Enjoy Ingredients:
caramel layer |
10 oz. individually wrapped caramels, unwrapped |
1/2 c. evaporated milk |
cake layer |
1 (18.5 oz.) pkg. moist yellow cake mix |
1/2 c. evaporated milk |
3/4 c. butter, melted |
chocolate layer |
3/4 c. milk chocolate chips |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). 2. In a small saucepan combine caramels and 1/2 c. of evaporated milk. Cook over low heat, stirring frequently until smooth; set aside. 3. Grease an 8x10 inch baking pan. 4. In a large bowl, stir together the cake mix, melted butter and 5. remaining 1/2 c. of evaporated milk. 6. Press half of the mixture into the bottom of the prepared pan, 7. reserving the rest. 8. Bake for 6 minutes in the preheated oven. 9. Remove the pan from the oven and let cool slightly. 10. Sprinkle chocolate chips evenly over the surface. Pour the caramel 11. mixture over the chocolate chips, then top with the remaining cake 12. mixture. The top should be swirled with caramel. 13. Return pan to the oven for an additional 18 to 20 minutes, until 14. firm. 15. Cool on a wire rack then refrigerate for 1 hour before cutting into 16. bars. |
