This was one of my mother's favorite cookie recipes, and she baked dozens of these for carry-in dinners. From the kitchen of Wanda Cupp Thornburg, Moberly MO. Ingredients:
1/4 cup butter |
1 cup brown sugar |
1 egg, beaten |
3/4 cup flour |
1 teaspoon baking powder |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1/2 teaspoon vanilla |
1/2 cup chopped nuts |
Directions:
1. Melt butter and add brown sugar. Let cool. 2. Add all remaining ingredients and mix well. 3. Put into greased 9 x9 pan. Bake for 20-25 minutes in 350 degree oven. Do not overcook. 4. Cool slightly and cut into 1 x3 bars. Cookies should be moist and chewy, so keep them in an airtight container. |
