Here's a different version of blond brownies that has toffee bits instead of chocolate chips. Delicious! Ingredients:
1/2 cup butter or 1/2 cup margarine, softened |
1 cup sugar |
1/2 cup packed brown sugar |
2 eggs |
1 teaspoon vanilla extract |
1 1/2 cups flour |
2 teaspoons baking powder |
1/4 teaspoon salt |
1 cup english toffee bits or 1 cup almond brickle chips |
Directions:
1. In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugars. 2. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. 3. Beat in vanilla. 4. Combine the flour, baking powder and salt; gradually add to creamed mixture. 5. Stir in toffee bits. 6. Spread evenly into a greased 13x9 baking pan. 7. Bake at 350 for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near center comes out clean. 8. Cool on a wire rack. 9. Cut into 12 bars. 10. Cut each bar diagnally to form triangles. |
