My friends mom would always have this on hand when I was around. It is good warm & cold with some tortilla chips. She used to can it as well. It does make a lot!! Ingredients:
2 lbs ground beef |
2 cups chopped onions |
1 cup diced celery |
1 (15 ounce) can cream of tomato soup |
1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste |
1/2 cup ketchup |
1 (17 ounce) can lima beans, drained |
1 (15 ounce) can yellow wax beans, drained |
1 (15 ounce) can chili beans, undrained |
1 (1 ounce) can pork & beans, undrained |
1/2 cup brown sugar |
2 tablespoons prepared mustard |
Directions:
1. In a large dutch oven, brown beef over med. heat. Drain fat. Add onion & celery, cook until tender. Stir in soup, tomato paste & ketchup, simmer 15-20 minutes. Spoon into large kettle or roaster. Add all remaining ingredients. Stir well. Bake, uncovered, at 350 for 1 hour. |
