I'm not a fan of fishy tasting fish so have learned to love tilapia for it's very mild flavor. This is great served over a bed of rice. Ingredients:
3 tablespoons paprika powder |
1 tablespoon salt |
1 tablespoon onion powder |
1 teaspoon ground white pepper |
1 teaspoon ground black pepper |
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper |
1 teaspoon dried thyme |
1 teaspoon dried oregano |
1/2 teaspoon celery seed |
1 pinch garlic powder |
1 tablespoon vegetable oil |
1 pound tilapia fillets |
1 lemon |
Directions:
1. Combine first 10 ingredients in a large re-sealable baggie and mix well. 2. Add Tilapia fillets one at a time to the bag and coat well - remove and let them sit for 30 minutes at room temperature. 3. Slice the lemon into wedges. 4. Heat up a frying pan over med high heat. 5. Pour oil into the frying pan when the oil is so hot it's almost smoking add Tilapia fillets. 6. Fry the Tilapia fillets until the fillets look opaque and can be easily flaked with a fork - about 3 minutes per side. 7. Remove fillets to plates, add a lemon wedge and serve immediately. |
