These are very tasty and a nice way to start the morning. I like them warm but are also good at room temperature. Enjoy Ingredients:
2 cups fresh or frozen blackberries |
2 tablespoons granulated sugar |
2 tablespoons water |
1 tablespoon lemon juice |
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon |
1 cup all purpose flour |
1 cup quick cooking rolled oats |
2/3 cup packed brown sugar |
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon |
1/8 teaspoon baking soda |
1/2 cup butter melted |
Directions:
1. In a medium saucepan combine berries, sugar, water, juice and cinnamon. 2. Bring to a boil then reduce heat and simmer uncovered for 8 minutes. 3. Stir frequently then remove from heat. 4. In mixing bowl stir together flour, oats, brown sugar, cinnamon and soda. 5. Stir in melted butter until thoroughly combined. 6. Set aside 1 cup of the oat mixture for topping. 7. Press remaining oat mixture into an ungreased square baking pan. 8. Bake at 350 for 25 minutes. 9. Carefully spread filling on top of baked crust. 10. Sprinkle with reserved oat mixture. 11. Lightly press oat mixture into filling. 12. Bake at 350 for 25 minutes. 13. Cool in pan on a wire rack then cut into bars. |
