Serve with vanilla or hard sauce. Ingredients:
1/4 cup margarine |
1/2 cup sugar |
1 egg, well beaten |
1/4 teaspoon salt |
1 cup milk |
2 cups all-purpose flour |
3 teaspoons baking powder |
1/2 cup chopped black walnut |
1/2 teaspoon vanilla flavoring |
Directions:
1. Cream the butter with sugar. 2. Add the egg and beat thoroughly. 3. Sift the flour with baking powder and salt. 4. Add the dry ingredients alternately with the milk to the creamed butter mixture. 5. Add the walnuts and flavoring. 6. Mix thoroughly and pour into a shallow, well-oiled baking pan. 7. Bake in moderate oven (375°F) for 30 minutes. |
