I tasted this last night for the first time and loved it. The black peppercorn syrup is great. I will be making these often. Cook time includes time to make syrup but not cooling time. Ingredients:
2 1/2 ounces hendricks gin |
1/2 ounce dry vermouth |
ice |
1 1/2 cups water |
1 cup granulated sugar |
1 tablespoon whole black peppercorn |
1 tablespoon cracked black peppercorns |
Directions:
1. For Black Peppercorn Syrup:. 2. Combine all ingredients in a small saucepan over medium-high heat, stirring until sugar has dissolved. 3. Bring to a boil and then reduce heat to bring mixture to a simmer; cook for 20 minutes. Remove from heat and cool to room temperature. 4. Strain the cooled syrup and refrigerate it in a container with a tightfitting lid. 5. For Martini:. 6. Combine all ingredients in a shaker filled with ice. Stir with a bar spoon, and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. |
