This is an adopted recipe that I have not yet tried. The original poster said the following: A very moist and dark chocolate cake. Best served with no icing, just a spoonful of whipped cream. Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated if anyone tries this recipe. Thanks! Ingredients:
2 cups flour |
2 cups sugar |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
2 eggs, beaten |
2 teaspoons baking soda |
1 teaspoon baking powder |
1 cup strong coffee, hot |
3/4 cup cocoa |
1 teaspoon salt |
1/2 cup vegetable oil or 1/2 cup canola oil |
1 cup milk |
Directions:
1. Sift dry ingredients then add oil and eggs. 2. Alternate milk with chocolate (cocoa and coffee). 3. Mix thoroughly. 4. Batter will be very thin. 5. Bake in a greased tube pan-one that doesn’t come apart because thin batter will leak. 6. Bake at 375 degrees for 45 minutes or until knife inserted comes out clean. |
