This cake starts out with a little help by using a mix, how many of us can't use a little help every now and then. I know the recipe doesn't call for it but again I always add almond flavoring to my cherry pie filling. Read more . Enjoy Ingredients:
1 (18.25 ounce) box moist deluxe dark chocolate fudge cake mix |
2 1/2 cups whipping cream, chilled |
2 1/2 tablespoons powdered sugar |
1 (21 ounce) can cherry pie filling, chilled |
grated semi-sweet chocolate |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350. 2. Prepare cake batter as directed on package. Pour into two greased and floured 9 inch round cake pans. bake as directed on package. 3. In bowl, beat whipping cream with mixer until soft peaks form. Gradually add sugar. Beat until stiff peaks form. 4. Place one cake layer onto serving plate. Spread two thirds pie filling onto cake to within 1/2 inch of edge. Spread 1 1/2 cups whipped cream mixture over pie filling. Top with second cake layer. 5. Frost sides and top with remaining whipped cream mixture. Spread 6. remaining pie filling on top to within 1 inch of edge. Chill 7. until ready to serve. Garnish with grated chocolate. |
