I made this the same night I made my greens recipe. I love Southern food but like to make it my way. Ingredients:
1 cup rinsed and soaked black-eyed peas |
1 teaspoon vegetable oil |
1 small yellow onion, diced |
1 teaspoon dried italian seasoning |
1 garlic clove, minced |
1 chicken bouillon cube |
1 tablespoon dried vegetable flakes |
1 tablespoon bacon bits |
2 cups water |
salt |
pepper |
Directions:
1. Stir all ingredients in a medium pot. 2. Cover and simmer for 3 hours or until soft, stirring occasionally. |
