Serve this dish with hot water cornbread..Finger lickin good!!!! This recipe was given to me by my sister-in-law.... It was one of her favorites. Ingredients:
6 strips bacon, fried and drained |
1 cup chopped celery |
1 cup chopped green pepper |
1 cup chopped onion |
1 16oz can of black-eyed peas |
1 16 oz can tomatoes |
salt and pepper to taste |
Directions:
1. Fry bacon: drain and crumble 2. Simmer celery, pepper, onion in drippings from bacon until done. 3. Add peas, tomatoes and bacon. 4. Seson with salt and pepper to taste. 5. Simmer for about 20 minutes. 6. Put in a casserole dish and serve. |
