This is a spin on a classic hummus. Easy to make and very tasty. Serve with pita chips and tortilla chips. Ingredients:
15 oz can black beans drained and rinsed |
15 oz can chickpeas, drains |
1 t tahini (peanut butter or 1 t sesame oil can be substituted) |
2 cloves garlic crushed |
1 teas kosher salt |
1 teas californian chile powder |
1/4 teas ground cumin |
1/4 teas ground coriander |
pinch |
2 t lime juice |
1/3 c olive oil |
1/3 c water |
2 t fresh chopped cilantro |
Directions:
1. Place all the ingredients in a food processor 2. Puree to desired consistency, adding more water if needed 3. Better if it sits for an hour or so 4. When refrigerated, bring back to room temperature, Add a little water if needed to get the desired consistency. 5. Serve with pita chips or tortilla chips |
