I received an email this morning from the Best of Spark People and this recipe was featured. Here is what the chef has to say: A great chili that is perfect with cornbread muffins.
Ingredients:
1 (15 ounce) can black beans
1 (15 ounce) can chili beans
1 onion, chopped
1 stalk celery, chopped
1 jalapeno pepper, chopped
1 -2 fresh garlic clove, chopped
1 teaspoon ground cumin
red pepper flakes (optional)
salt and pepper (optional)
Directions:
1. Saute' onions, celery and jalapeno peppers in oil until soft (5 minutes).
2. Add garlic.
3. Add cumin, and other optional seasonings to taste.
4. Add remaining ingredients.
5. Simmer 20 minutes.
