Esy and delcious. I use a spicy salsa for a zippy flavor People always ask for the recipe and it seems even the meat eaters truly love the recipe. never any left when I make these!! Ingredients:
2, 15 oz can black beans |
1/2 cup chunky salsa ( mild is to bland- use medium or hot ) |
1/4 cup yellow cornmeal |
1/2 cup white or whole wheat flour |
1 tsp cumin |
1 clove garlic |
salt and pepper to taste |
Directions:
1. . Rinse and drain beans. 2. Place in food processor and process until almost smooth. 3. Add remainders and process well mixed 4. Divide into 6 portions and make patties with your hands. 5. Chill well. 6. To prepare: heat some olive oil in skillet and cook until browned on both sides. 7. Serve on buns with lettuce, tomatoes and onions. 8. Note: add some fresh chopped parsley or cilantro f desired to the bean mixture . 9. Also grills well, be sure to spray grill with Pam grilling oil to prevent burgers from sticking. 10. Also may be prepared and reheated. |
