I serve this every year for Christmas brunch, Easy and good. After I make it I put it in the crockpot on low on the buffet and its always a big hit. I usually double the recipe ( I sometimes double the recipe and still use only 1/2 lb. sausage).
Ingredients:
1/2 lb sausage
1/4 cup butter
1/3 cup all-purpose flour
3 1/4 cups milk
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
Directions:
1. Brown sausage in skillet, stirring until it crumbles.
2. Drain, reserving 1 Tbs.
3. drippings in skillet.
4. Set sausage aside.
5. Add butter to drippings, heat over low heat.
6. Add flour, stirring until smooth.
7. Cook 1 minute, stirring constantly.
8. Gradually add milk, cook over medium heat stirring constantly.
9. Stir in seasonings and sausage.
10. cook until heated.
11. I use a whisk.
