a real treat with coffee or tea Ingredients:
1/3 cup vegetable shortening |
2/3 cup sugar |
2 eggs |
1/4 cup buttermilk |
1/4 cup powdered coco |
1 tsp cinnamon |
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper |
1/2 tsp baking soda |
1tsp baking powder |
2 1/4 cups flour |
Directions:
1. Cream shortening, sugar, eggs, butter milk, coco, cinnamon and cayenne. 2. Add flour and mix thoroughly until it becomes a thick pliable dough. 3. Place on a large greased cookie sheet and form into a 1/2 X 6 X18 4. Bake at 350 for 20 min. remove from oven and allow to cool for 45 min. 5. cut into 3/4 X 6 slices and bake at 300 for 6 min per side and cool. 6. You can melt chocolate chips and coat one side if you desire that little extra |
