Bing Cherries In Red Wine Sauce |

This is a recipe that is great served as an ice cream topping, or over frozen yogurt. I hope that you love it as much as I do. Ingredients:
2 cups dry red wine |
1 cup sugar |
1 tsp. cinnamon |
1/2 tsp. ground cloves |
1 tbsp. grated lemon zest |
2 pounds bing cherries, rinsed and pitted |
Directions:
1. Combine wine, sugar, cinnamon, cloves and lemon zest in a saucepan and simmer until sugar melts. 2. Place the cherries in a 11 x7 baking dish sprayed with a nonstick cooking spray. 3. Pour the wine sauce over the cherries. 4. Bake for 25-30 minutes. 5. Serve over ice cream or frozen yogurt. 6. You may use canned cherries if you can't find fresh. 7. If using canned cherries lessen the baking time by 10 minutes |
