BIG BOY STRAWBERRY PIE This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Sterling Estate in Watauga, Texas in 1991. Ingredients:
1 quart stemmed washed and sliced strawberries |
1 cup granulated sugar |
1/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons cornstarch |
1 small package strawberry gelatin |
1 teaspoon lemon juice |
1 graham cracker pie crust |
whipped cream and strawberries for garnish |
Directions:
1. Mix sugar, cornstarch and gelatin then add water and juice and bring to boil over medium heat. 2. Stirring constantly for 15 minutes then remove from heat and cool until touchable. 3. Gently fold in strawberries then pour into graham cracker crust and refrigerate 4 hours. 4. Top with whipped cream and garnish with fresh whole strawberries. |
