Hearty taste. Great for a cook out. Ingredients:
5 -6 slices bacon |
2 lbs lean ground beef |
1 large onion, chopped |
3 garlic cloves, chopped |
1 cup ketchup |
1 cup brown sugar |
2 teaspoons salt |
4 teaspoons red wine vinegar |
2 (15 ounce) cans kidney beans, drained & rinsed |
2 (15 ounce) cans butter beans, drained & rinsed |
2 (15 ounce) cans pork & beans |
Directions:
1. Fry bacon, drain and set aside. 2. Brown ground beef with onion and garlic over medium heat. 3. Combine ketchup, brown sugar, salt and vinegar, and add to the beef mixture. 4. Add the beans and combine thoroughly in an oven proof baking dish. Top with crumbled bacon. 5. Bake covered at 350 deg for 45 minutes. (Black beans can be substituted for kidney or butter beans, or added to the recipe.). |
