I wanted to make an authenticGerman meal...so I found this on-line, plus it was different... by: Cindy Hardy from German recipes (I just googled german recipes) Ingredients:
1 1/2 tbsp. (heaping) flour |
3 1/2 tbsp. butter |
1 liter beer |
1 sm piece of cinnamon |
sugar to taste |
2 egg yolks |
1/2 c. plus 1/2 tbsp. milk |
toasted white (french) bread |
Directions:
1. Open the beer and let it get flat; at least two hours. Brown the flour in the butter, then add beer. Add cinnamon and sugar and bring to a boil. Whisk together the egg yolk and milk and stir into the hot (but no longer boiling) beer. Strain, and serve with toasted slices of bread. 2. * The prep/cook time is an estimate |
