These are rich and chewy and delicious!!! I got the recipe from my mom's old Betty Crocker Cooky Book. Sinful!! Ingredients:
1/4 cup butter |
1 cup light brown sugar (packed) |
1 egg |
3/4 cup flour |
1 tsp. baking powder |
1/2 tsp. salt |
1/2 tsp. vanilla |
1/2 cup coarsely chopped walnuts |
Directions:
1. Heat oven to 350 degrees. 2. Melt butter over low heat. Remove from heat and stir in sugar until well blended; cool. 3. Stir in egg. 4. Measure flour and then stir baking powder, salt, and flour together; blend in. 5. Mix in vanilla and walnuts. 6. Spread in a well-greased square pan. 7. Bake 25 minutes. DO NOT OVERBAKE! 8. Cut into bars while warm. |
