Ingredients:
1 10oz jar(s) 10 oz maraschino cherries |
1/4 teaspoon(s) baking powder |
1/4 teaspoon(s) baking soda |
1/2 cup(s) butter |
1/2 cup(s) eagle brand sweetened condensed milk |
1 egg |
1 1/2 cup(s) flour |
1/4 teaspoon(s) salt |
1 6oz package(s) semi sweet chocolate pieces |
1 cup(s) sugar |
1/2 cup(s) unsweetened cocoa |
1 1/2 teaspoon(s) vanilla |
Directions:
1. In a large bowl, stir together flour, cocoa, salt, baking powder and soda. In mixer bowl, beat together butter and sugar on low speed until fluffy. Add egg and vanilla, beat well. Combine the two mixtures and shape dough into 1 -inch balls; place on an ungreased cookie sheet. Press down center of dough with thumb. Drain cherries. Save juice. Place a cherry in center of each cookie. In a small pan melt chocolate pieces and condensed milk. Stir in 4 teaspoons cherry juice. Spoon 1 teaspoon frosting over each cherry. Bake 350 degrees about 10 minutes. |
