This is an old Southern recipe that is delightful and different. It's worth a try to satisfy your sweet tooth Ingredients:
1 box yellow c.ake mix, duncan hines is preferred. |
8 oz cream cheese |
2 cups milk + milk for cake mix |
oil for cake mix |
eggs for cake mix |
1 small package instant vanilla pudding |
6 bananas |
2 cups sugar |
1 large can crushed pineapple |
cool whip |
chopped cherries |
chopped pecans or other nuts |
Directions:
1. Mix cake mix according to directions, using milk instead of water. 2. Bake in oblong cake pan. When cake is done, punch holes in it. 3. Bring to boil pineapple and sugar and pour over hot cake. Let cake Cool completely 4. Mix cream cheese, 2 cups milk and pudding mix, spread over cake and cool in refrigerator until pudding is set 5. Cover with Cool whip, sliced bananas and top with cherries and pecans. 6. Note: Strawberries may be substituted for cherries. 7. Refrigerate |
