I made these for the first time for Thanksgiving. They were so popular I have made them once a week since then to share for different occasions. They are super easy to make and taste like you fussed. A great at home any-time or take along dessert. Read more . They would pack well for gift boxes. I would have included a picture, but they are not around long enough to film! Ingredients:
crust |
1 cup softened butter |
1/2 cup powdered sugar |
2 cups flour |
filling |
1 egg |
1-14 oz. can sweetened condensed milk |
1 t. vanilla extract |
pinch of salt |
1-10 oz. pkg. english toffee bits |
1 cup chopped pecans |
Directions:
1. Crust: 2. Mix flour, butter and powdered sugar in a large bowl. 3. Mixture should resemble coarse meal. 4. Press firmly into bottom of 9 x 13 pan. 5. Bake at 350 for 15 minutes. 6. Filling: 7. In large mixing bowl beat milk, egg, salt and vanilla until smooth. 8. Stir in toffee bits and pecans. 9. Spread evenly over crust. 10. Bake for 20 - 25 minutes longer until lightly browned. 11. Cool. Cover and refrigerate. Cut into bars before serving. 12. Store in refrig if there are any left! :) |
