Better Than Fantasy Fudge |

This is an old family recipe, it uses marshmallows instead of marshmallow creme....I make at least 2 batches every year...builds upper body strength with the stirring! The Fudge is always smooth and creamy in texture, no graininess at all. Ingredients:
1/2 cup sweet butter |
2 (12 ounce) packages semi-sweet chocolate chips |
2 1/2 lbs milk chocolate candy bars |
32 large marshmallows |
1/2 lb nuts (optional) |
1 (12 ounce) can evaporated milk |
4 1/2 cups sugar |
Directions:
1. In a heat-proof bowl break apart milk chocolate and cut marshmallows in half. Add chocolate chips and butter cut into pieces.And nuts if desired. 2. Dissolve the sugar in the milk over low heat and bring to slow boil to soft ball stage, Then CAREFULLY pour hot mixture into bowl of chocolate and marshmallows and start stirring to melt everything together. Keep stirring until it becomes smooth in appearance and all the marshmallows have dissolved. 3. Pour/spread into 17.25x11.5 jelly roll pan, cover with wax paper and cool to set in a cool room. |
