Easy recipe and can be made early in the day and warmed up just before serving. It usually tastes better and allows the Old Bay Seasoning to soak through the shrimps. Count on never having any left-overs when making this recipe. When making a fish dinner - this recipe is the first to go. Has always been enjoyed by everyone that has eaten at my home... Enjoy!
Ingredients:
1 quart vegetables or 1 quart light sunflower oil
4 cups large raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
2 cups flour
1/4 cup old bay seasoning
1 large ziploc bag
salt and pepper
Directions:
1. Taste best when using fresh shrimp rather than frozen. Clean and damp dry shrimps.
2. Combine dry ingredients in large freezer bag, toss till well mixed.
3. Heat oil in large skillet.
4. While oil is heating up, drop all the shrimp in the freezer bag and close ziplock with lots of air in the bag.
5. Toss the shrimp until they are well coated.
6. Frying shrimps a few at a time and only until they turn orange in colour on each side. Place on rack sitting on a cookie sheet.
7. DO NOT OVER COOK - it will make the shrimps tough.
8. When ready to serve, place shrimp with the rack and cookie sheet in the oven at 350 for 15 mins to crisp, warm them up and drain excess oil.
9. Serve on a decorative fish platter and enjoy!
